This devotional will encourage women to apply the wisdom of God’s original design for wifehood to their day-to-day lives. God intended for women to truly seek applicable ways to be the virtuous woman portrayed in the scripture. Therefore, rather than exploiting the character and integrity of the word of God, this devotional acts as a guide, providing practical questions and a creative space to make the text more personal to you. To truly embrace the transformation and wisdom we must renew our minds and trust the leading of the Holy Spirit. Intentionality will be needed for this devotional to fully impact your life and your process of becoming.
Receiving a promise from God is beautiful. It’s a reminder that you are seen, cared about, and thought of by the creator of all things! What we didn’t know, is that the same promise would take us through a plethora of seasons, emotions, challenges and so much more. Many of us, like Joseph in Genesis 37-50, were given dreams, promises, or prophecies that filled us with excitement and expectation, yet the process of the promise was completely unexpected and honestly daunting. In this devotional, you will learn all the tools our Heavenly Father taught me during the process of waiting for him to fulfill the things he spoke over my life. God allowed the wait of my promises to weigh me down, so he could then pull me up, leaving me with the wisdom to encourage you to endure your process. 1 Corinthians 1:4 CSB says, “God, encourages us in all our trials, so that we can encourage others in whatever trials they may be undergoing with the encouragement we ourselves have received from God.” My prayer over this book and for anyone who purchases it is that the Lord of Heaven, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of covenant and resurrections will help you endure the wait using the tools written here. May you find joy and peace, fully expecting him to keep his promises made to you! I pray our savior; Jesus Christ continuously shows himself to be God in your life.
Emotions are a part of our godlikeness. (Genesis 1:26) There are many occurrences in scripture that prove God has emotions. How we feel proves that we are alive, not by the influence of an emotionless god or 'universe'. Admitting the truth of your emotions does not make us weak, it makes us like our Heavenly Father. Therefore, to dismiss the feeling of your present circumstance is to dismiss the authenticity of a holy moment between you and God. Wholeness is a process and emotional sobriety is the guide that will get you to the other side.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. ~Psalms 34:18
